Petition Calling for the Immediate Release of Meriam Yahia Ibrahim on the grounds of a breech in International Human Rights Laws, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights to which Sudan is a State Party. i.e. "Everyone has the right to freedom of religion. This includes the freedom to have or to adopt a religion or belief of his choice, and freedom, either individually or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in worship, observance, practice and teaching”.
Meriam is a lifelong Sudanese Christian, and married to an American citizen. She is the mother of a 20-month-old toddler and in her ninth month of pregnancy with her second child.
Although innocent, Sudan's Public Order Court recently sentenced her to death.
