People who are poor, unemployed, disabled, have children and the like receive $200 or less in food stamp benefits depending on family size. I have worked all my life and lost my job due to layoffs in 2008. I currently receive disability benefits and I only receive $59.00 in food stamps a month. That might get me $25.00 in groceries. I just moved from Mass. To Florida and there are days when I live on peanut butter & jelly if I'm lucky. Please raise the food stamp amounts. Especially, with the cost of food being so high now.
