To understand the massive cost of Defense budget, create a separate deduction from our paystubs, like FICA and Medicare

Created by T.B. on July 28, 2015

If we want a military budget larger than the rest of the world combined, we need to have a DEFENSE tax item on our paychecks that funds it directly, just like Social Security and Medicare. The military should be removed from the general fund. It is the single largest government spending item in the world. It needs to stand on it’s own.

The assault on Medicare and Social Security must stop until the true cost of government is understood. FICA funds Social Security and is listed on your paystub. Medicare is a separate line. If Medicare needs more funding because we are living longer, increase the Medicare tax slightly to make it solvent. If there are less workers now than 50 years ago to fund Social Security, we need to increase the FICA tax. DEFENSE must be managed the same way.
