We’ve been virtually enslaved to employers by highly questionable laws. While we can dispute our credit reports and correct false entries, we have no such rights in the world of employment. Supervisors with no ability or the ethics required to manage are setup as equivalents to the old European Noblemen and are empowered to make whatever judgments they want, for any reasons they wish. They can make any claims they want, knowing that they will never be held accountable or questioned. References are based more on personal prejudices than they are on the work actually performed. We need to restrict communications between employers concerning employees, and setup a fair system, similar to credit reports for employee references and hold employers responsible for their supervisor's actions.
