Unemployment benefit employer fraud enforcement

Created by J.B. on March 13, 2013

Every year thousands are denied unemployment benefits because employers lie about "cause" after termination.

Unemployment appeals hearing officers are over worked, and do not have the legal means to go after employers who routinely engage in unemployment fraud to deny benefits. Needed is the right for the employee to amend the formal record, with written evidence and polygraph tests to rebut perjured testimony during the appeals hearing, and reopen the case.

The employees fraudulently denied benefits are frequently a head of household, earning barely more than minimum wage, can not hire an attorney, and find themselves out of work for weeks or months without a safety net. This is unjust, and an abuse of power when no recourse exists to rebut an employers perjured testimony
