unequivocally denounce the opaque and undemocratic proceedings that led to the creation of SOPA and PIPA.

Created by C.W. on February 01, 2012

The creation and review of the Stop Online Progress Act and associated Senate bill was consistently performed without input from any stakeholders except legacy industry lobbies. Considering the highly technical nuances of these bills, and the subsequent public stand against them, we believe that the White House should strongly denounce the practices of both the Lobbyists and Congressmen involved.

To actively avoid stakeholder input as the committee chairmen in charge of these bills did is rightly perceived as crony capitalism of the worst form. A denouncement of these practices would do wonders in assuring the public that the White House is willing to take a stand in defending the public interest and emergent industries.
