The unethical procedures following the discontinuation of the methadone maintenance program.

The methods currently executed for the discontinuing of methadone due to loss of insurance (or whatever the reason) is not of sound ethics which clinicians should abide by.I speak from personal experience,but the exception in my case is that I discontinued it while I still had insurance.(before it was discontinued due to my coming off of methadone maintenance and trying to better myself, dosen't make sense?)Anyway like I said I came off of methadone the standard way in which an individual would if they were cut off from their insurance.(because I wanted to experience if the program method is sound, and I found that it is not) I was on 65mg/daily for two years.The standard is 28 days. You might as well hand them a needle on the way out, for this method of detoxification is highly flawed.
