Unfair Housing practices for low - income residents in the District of Columbia

Created by M.R. on May 03, 2016

I recently suffered discrimination due to the area where I live. The gentrification that is currently taking place in the District of Columbia is a very unfair and rigged system designed to push a certain class of the city out. I am very excited regarding the changes that are taking place within the city, however not at the expense of the citizens that kept this city alive when all the money took flight after the riots in the 60's. I believe that every resident that resides in DC should be given the opportunity to own property in all wards of the city, and not just the low income wards or be given the choice to move to Maryland to aquire affordable housing. In addition, I want reassurances that the programs that have been put into place to regulate fair housing practices are doing its job.
