The U.S. electorate has failed to provide for responsible stewardship of the weapons of mass destruction we have created. President-elect Trump has given us positive reasons to believe that he might employ these weapons, which would necessarily result in many non-combatant casualties and profound and lasting harm to our shared environment. The last responsibility of the current administration to the American people is to ensure that a global atrocity is not committed in our name. The last responsibility it has to the world is to take the keys away from a drunkard before he gets behind the wheel.
