By 2025 at least 50% of the energy used in the United States must be renewable. Let’s pass legislation and create an energy "road map" to make sure this goal is met. Enact legislation and supply incentives to guarantee that the U.S. catalyzes the shift from unclean CO2 emitting power plants to clean, renewable energy sources. The U.S. ranks second behind China in total amount of carbon emissions from our power plants. The European Commission is going to meet in 2014 to expand their very effective renewable energy policies. In the pursuit of energy sustainability and to prepare for rapid climate change, we must demand that the government set real and tangible goals to lessen carbon emissions and nurture the growth and worldwide acceptance of renewable energy.
