We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

The United States is enduring mass shootings almost daily. Gun control reform is imperative.

Created by S.F. on June 13, 2016

The laws that govern vehicles should be the same laws that govern firearms. There is zero reason why we should have more laws and safeties in place for vehicles than we do firearms. Every firearm owner should have to take a practical and written competency test, pass a criminal background check, be licensed to use each firearm they own, and register each firearm they own prior to being allowed legal ownership. Additionally, automatic weapons should be designated as military weapons only, just as there are ownership and usage restrictions to the general public for certain types of vehicles. If a person violates these laws, they may face punishments including having their license suspended or revoked, firearms confiscated, fines, and jail time.
