Is the United States more interested in its strategic geo-political interest in Ethiopia than with human rights abuses?

The current Prime Minister of Ethiopia was educated in Communist China where he was indoctrinated with socialist-communist ideology; today, he claims his government is "democratic", despite the fact that there is no freedom of speech or expression even on the internet, no right to peaceful protest, the church, newspapers, television and the education systems are control/censored by the Government: all of which provides clear evidence that while Ethiopia pretends to be "democratic" she is unwilling to establish true democracy. For these and other reasons, we implore the US to take a stronger position on Ethiopian human rights abuses, for in the end, we shall remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends.” Dr. Martin Luther
