Yesterday the White House acknowledged that strict standards President Obama imposed to prevent civilian deaths from U.S. drone strikes will not apply to U.S. military operations in Syria and Iraq. In the past few days, innocent civilians including women and children have been killed in US bombings.
The administration is not doing enough to protect innocent civilians. In addition, the administration's hypocrisy is astounding. A couple months ago the state department said "the suspicion that militants are operating nearby does not justify strikes that put at risk the lives of so many innocent civilians." and went on to call the Israeli attacks "disgraceful". We call on President Obama to drop leaflets warning civilians of incoming attacks and to apologize to Israel.
