The United States should invest in building a space elevator.

Created by N.H. on January 19, 2013

The United States should invest money to NASA to create a space elevator. Building a space elevator would be a great idea for the United States. Not only would it be an easy way to get objects to the International Space Station, but it would also help the U.S. financially. To send a pound of material into orbit, it costs about $11,000. We could send the same amount of material into orbit with a space elevator for about $100. Philip Regan has stated that with a difference that significant, the first country to deploy a space elevator will have a 95% cost advantage. Not only that, but the first country to deploy a space elevator will possibly control all space related activity.
