We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Universities should proactively inform Students about their loans

Created by H.Z. on December 04, 2016

With a national student debt of over 1.3 trillion, and 7 in 10 graduates having an average debt of 30,000, there is a Student Debt Crisis in America. We need to take immediate action to educate students about their loans.

This petition requires the U.S Department of Education to mandate all Universities that process student loans to send debt information letters to students who are taking loans through that University. These letters will include student's loan type, debt, expected future payments, and tips, and will be sent at least twice per school year.

Indiana University has successfully implemented such a program and reduced student loans by 16% in two years.

Please sign this petition to help expand this important program to every university in our nation.

Thanks for your help!
