Prisons for profit means the more prisoners the more profit. Incarceration statistics have skyrocketed, but crime rates have increased more slowly. Immigration seems to be the most recent target market for these prisons and much of the hype about illegal immigrants stems from these private prisons for profit wanting to expand their market. It's an evil system. Some things just should not be privatized.
