We need stricter regulations for animals of all types.
Breeders need to be required to have a limit of animals per year, for the safety of the mother. There should also be required health screenings for both parents;; mandatory checks for housing; a strict, mandatory, governmental license; required health screenings for the animal and surroundings; and regulations on pure-breed breeding.
Pure-breeds have more health issues than any other dog; including Bulldogs can't give birth, Pugs can't breath, Labs get hip issues, and many more examples.
This amendment would also up the restrictions of corporations to sell animals. A small pet shop to a big-box store would have the same standards. This would include Betta Fish and turtles, other fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and all mammals.
