Update Air Force Fitness Regulation (AFI 36-2905) to allow more time postpartum for retrain and recovery.

Created by C.M. on April 22, 2013

Update Air Force Fitness Regulation (AFI 36-2905) to allow more time postpartum for retrain and recovery. The AFI currently only allows a mother 6 months recovery and retraining time after giving birth. However, the AFI doesn't cover mothers who have given birth by cesarean section. When a mother gives birth by cesarean section she is usually not cleared to do exercise until 8 weeks after delivering the child. This technically only gives her 4 months to retrain. Many mothers are failing their PT test after giving birth due to the fact the AFI only gives them 6 months postpartum. The AFI truly needs to revised and updated to reflect our current situations as military mothers. This has been an ongoing problem, which seems to have been ignored. I am asking for your help. Thank you
