update Black History Month to include recognition of the diverse cultures that make up our nation.

Created by G.S. on February 01, 2013

Our great nation is made up of people from nearly every other country in the world, but as a society we have succeeded in dividing our population along racial lines, creating barriers that are difficult for many to overcome.
To help our country unite together, we should celebrate our diversity within the whole, and eliminate the racial exclusions.
February is currently Black History Month, and Hispanic History Month is in September. This petition proposes we eliminate both by combining them into a single month of recognition for the diverse histories that make up the United States.
The new designation, Cultural Diversity Month will encourage the celebration of the vast number of cultures that make up the US and work to unite those of different ethnic backgrounds instead of dividing us.
