Update DOD 5210.56 to included all compentent members of the Armed Forces to carry firearms for self defense on base.

Created by S.T. on July 16, 2015

Expand DOD 5210.56 to include all competent members of the Armed Forces to carry personal firearms for safety on and off base. This would include but not limited to: remote posts such as the recruiting station like Tennessee that was attacked recently that are not secured facilities, secured facilities that are considered federal property but are only assigned a regional DHS agent, VA facilities, and bases that have active security such as the Naval Yard in D.C. that was attacked.

Members who can obtain a State issued CCL already prove they meet legal requirements and training to be issued a CCL in that respective State. Many service members have already been properly trained how to use these weapons and includes frequent qualification testing. A new policy is needed to prevent attacks.
