Why does a 2 liter bottle of soda pop have to say 66.7 ounces? And which ounce is it, anyway?
It is time to allow metric sized products to be labeled in metric units only.
Children who see metric sizes in their everyday lives will do better in science classes, and American manufacturers will be able to produce products and sell them in metric units only. Why is a TV screen 40 inches and not one meter?
Only the Food Marketing Institute stands in opposition of this legislation, and it would only take about 20 words in the FPLA to make the sale of a 2 liter bottle of any liquid legal in the USA.
This legislation will also enhance American companies prospects for sale of American made products in foreign countries. All the emerging markets are metric.
