The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was created to protect people from the abuse of the Debt Collection Industry. The last time this act was updated was back in 1996 and has no mention of using online media and penalties that are way to little for these companies to even care if the break them or not. This act needs to be updated to include rules for today's social media use and the penalties need to be more harsh so that Debt Collectors stop breaking the law once and for all.
