Recommend Congress revises 5 U.S.C. 6323 (a), which provides only 15 military leave days per fiscal year for active duty, active duty training, and inactive duty training for dual status federal/National Guard or Reserve service members. The new suggested amount should be 30 days. This would help prevent dual status troops from constantly using their own annual leave for military duty. This amount is comparable to other States (e.g. California or New York).
Reserve component troops were a gigantic part of the overall success in Iraq and Afghanistan. Often participating in multiple deployments just like our active duty comrades. We were asked to balance our families, work, and military duties simultaneously.
