Update the Politician Oath of Office and hold them to a higher ethical standard.

Most politicians take an oath of office that simply states that they "will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.". This simple oath leaves a lot of wiggle room to line their own pockets at our expense. I believe it is time for an updated oath of office that includes text that stipulates that this person agrees to make decisions that are in the best interest of humanity first, US Citizens second, and their local constituents third. This order is important as it would prevent a politicians from supporting activities that may benefit his local constituents but would harm the rest of the US or Humanity. An example might be supporting a local jobs project that would have a larger negative affect on the rest of the US economy.
