update the War Powers Resolution and get rid of the 60 day period the president was given to use military action.

Created by I.V. on December 13, 2014

Throughout this semester I have been doing research about the war in Iraq that started in 2003. This is a very exciting piece for me because I lived through this war. When you hear about every generations struggle the Iraq war belongs to my generation. I want to discuss the current policy that we have in place to declare war and what I would change it to. We need to make it harder for anyone in government to declare war or use military force and that includes the president. The act of declaring war should be a long process and should be decided by a near unanimous decision by congress and the president because war has many costly consequences.
