WHEREAS "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed", and right-wing groups have assured us that there can be no exceptions; and
WHEREAS these same groups have assured us that gun control never, ever, works -- that, in the words of the NRA's Wayne LaPierre, "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we the people demand our government respect the 2nd Amendment, and protect the rights our nation's prison population to keep and bear arms.
Since gun control doesn't work, banning guns in prisons just robs good criminals who follow prison rules of their natural right to self defense. And since prisons already have plenty of good guys with guns, nothing could possibly go wrong.
Right?
