FBI Crime statistic prove that violent crime has been cut in half since 1993. Assault weapons is a falsely defined, political term. Automatic weapons are already banned.
The statistics show that Metropolitan areas have 10x more violent crimes, than non metropolitan and cities outside metropolitan.
Its is the duty of the Federal Government to uphold the Constitution. Let City, County, and State Government deal with restrictions. "Across the Board" laws will not work in the United States.
With the same respect to state laws on Firearms usage and carried concealment, the states should be the ones to decided the level of restrictions.
Please cease and desist from passing Federals Laws that conflict with the Constitution. Enact state power to deal with this issue.
