Uphold the Second Amendment, reject any proposed ban on so called "Assault Weapons". Equal rights and protection for all

Due to the recent tragedy in Orlando, some have called upon our government to ban "assault weapons"
"Assault weapon" itself is deceptive, leading people to think that as average citizens we may own fully automatic firearms; and tricks people into thinking that many popular semiautomatic or self loading firearms function in the same way as their military counterparts. They don't, and are no more or less deadly than any other firearm available.
Any proposed ban is based solely on fear and ignorance. Terrorists and criminals will not abide by any ban or law. No law or ban will prevent mass shootings, bombings, terrorist attacks and violent crime. Don't make the mistake of weakening our ability to defend ourselves. Don't sacrifice our liberty for security you can't provide.
