Urge the Bureau of Land Management to formally reject proposals to eradicate up to 45,000 wild horses and burros.

The Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) advisory board on wild horses and burros has recently recommended the eradication of up to 45,000 wild horses held in BLM facilities following several "round ups"- resulting in upwards of 50,000 animals confined. Many of these animals were privately sold or tragically ended up in slaughterhouses; those remaining may meet a similar fate if the BLM does not reject it's board's proposal and work with animal conservancy groups to find more effective alternatives, such as birth control. Efforts to displace these animals comes from mounting pressure from the meat industry to use even more public land for beef farms. Please join me in urging the BLM to disance themselves from the meat industry's environmental damage, economic greed, and animal exploitation.
