We beseech the presidential administration to contact the Commission on Presidential Debates supporting the Thirty Second Recap.
The CPD's mission statement is to "provide the best possible information to viewers," yet voters in the United States have resigned to the idea that politicians should never be expected to give direct answers. That when confronted with an inconvenient question, candidates will bypass the topic for one from their list of talking points.
We can change this view with thirty seconds.
Add a thirty second period at the end of each candidate's talking time in which the candidate must restate both the debate question and their answer to it. This change is completely free. It will restore voter confidence and give debate questions and voters the respect they deserve.
