The US currently uses soft metric on most of our packaging. Think: Net Wt. 12oz (340g). As the US is one of very few nations left in the world to adhere to the imperial system, we ask that we begin transitioning to a more comfortable knowledge of metric.
Begin labeling packaging as such: Net Wt. 340g (12oz) or similar with more realistic metric values. Also, begin teaching children imperial and metric side-by-side, eventually transitioning out imperial all together. Labeling this way will make metric more comfortable and easier for the nation to adopt as a whole.
This will make us more consistent with foreign states, as well as giving us less chance to make conversion errors in scientific circles.
