Urge Congress to compel the USPS to roll back the excessive international postal rate increase of 1/26/2013.

Created by D.F. on January 29, 2013

On 1/26/2013 the USPS increased the price of mailing a 5oz package outside the United States from $6.12 to $12.75; a 108% increase! If postage is purchased online the cost is still $11.48 (87.5% higher).

According to the 1/29/2012 broadcast of NPR's Morning Edition, "Rising Postal Rates Squeeze Small Record Labels" (http://tinyurl.com/bymnejh), this rate hike will be devastating to small US retailers who sell to foreign customers.

The answer to the USPS's financial problems is for Congress to repeal the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 (petition: http://tinyurl.com/awxwtyb. Also see petition "Save the Post Office" http://tinyurl.com/bhk43qq).

The answer to the USPS's financial problems is NOT to gouge consumers or destroy small retailers who sell outside the US.
