The United States is trillions of dollars in debt. Despite rhetoric on both sides about cutting spending, raising taxes, and a number of other fixes to our budgetary problems, no one has done anything concrete but point fingers. Congress is elected to take care of us, but they are more interested in throwing dirt at the opposite party than fixing problems. It is time that our Congress members do their jobs and start working-TOGETHER- to solve our budget crisis, first by passing a balanced budget amendment.
You, President Obama, were elected as a candidate of change. You also have tremendous influence in the public sphere. We call on you to represent us and take charge of this budget issue once and for all, by doing everything you can to make the balanced budget amendment a reality.
