We the people petition President Obama to urge Congress to enact an anti-racial profiling statute modeled after ERPA 2010 consistent with his campaign promises, and to publicly support such a statue, and make its enactment one of his administration's highest legislative priorities.
Pending enactment, we urge an executive order prohibiting federal law enforcement's engagement in racial profiling or sanctioning use of the practice by state or local law enforcement connected with any federal program. The executive order should use definition of "Racial profiling" in Sec. 2(6) of ERPA 2010; incorporate provisions of Title II, Sect 201 of ERPA 2010, i.e., training of federal law enforcement, collection of data, procedures for receiving, investigating/responding to racial profiling complaints.
