Urge Congress to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide

Created by Z.S. on November 15, 2012

From 1915 to 1923, the Ottoman Empire concieved and implemented the forced deportation of nearly 2 million Armenians, of whom 1.5 million were killed. The historian Raphael Lemkin cited these events as a definitive example of the crime of genocide.
While 42 American states have recognized the genocide, the United States Congress continues to choose inaction in the face of denial.
We cannot accept the denial of crimes against humanity and we cannot allow these events to be forgotten.
