The UN Human Rights Council’s Report of the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in North Korea alarms the international community about the brutal conditions of human rights in the region, calling for united attention and action on this issue.
The totalitarian government of N. Korea, notorious for its violations of human rights, which is a fundamental value for a society, must be assertively pushed by our government, the leader of the free world, to improve its human rights.
In line with the recent increase in awareness of human rights issues in N. Korea, Congress has HR1771, which prevents N. Korea from increasing its nuclear capabilities and pressures it to improve its human rights conditions, in committee. Now, we request that the White House urge Congress to quickly pass HR1771.
