This is not a petition to completely end abortion. It is merely supposed to address one specific aspect of it. The main argument in favor of abortion is that women have rights to their bodies. However, there have been cases where abortion procedures have failed and the babies were born alive. Even though the baby was no longer in the women's bodies, they still had the decision to end its life. This is not consistent with a woman's right to her body, because that baby is no longer a part of her body, and is capable of having a life with the proper care. Congress should pass a law that gives rights to these children born alive from failed abortions and provide them with healthcare if necessary. The women would be allowed decide whether they want to keep the baby or put it up for adoption.
