Urge Congress to pass legislation that would allow U.S. citizens to elect their own ambassador to the United Nations.

In an increasingly globalized world, the U.S. government needs to expand democracy to its citizens by passing legislation that would extend the rights of the people to include the election of the US Ambassador to the United Nations in national elections.
The UN is often derided as an undemocratic political body presiding over sovereign nations. However, by allowing the people of the US to elect their own ambassador, not only do we broaden democracy's reach, we set an example for the rest of the international community to follow in our footsteps in creating a truly representative and accountable global legislative body.
