We, The People of the United States of America do hereby petition our government to reenact a sales tax deduction for those residents of states which impose no state income tax.
Legislation allowing residents of the several states which impose no state income tax to deduct state and local sales taxes paid has now expired. This has placed a higher tax burden on those residents while giving an unfair tax advantage to residents of states which impose an income tax. In short, residents of the several states that impose no income tax must shoulder more of the Federal Government's financial burden.
