Urge Congress to stop using the 27th Amendment to avoid sequestration. Donate 20% of their pay to the Dept of Treasury.

Created by C.P. on March 03, 2013

Whlie the 27th Amendment prevents Congress from making immediate adjustments to their compensation, Congress should not remain idle and therefore apathetic, while the sequestration undermines the financial security of the working class. Congress' inability to compromise on the budget has forced the American Public to pay for political inaction.

Our political leaders should not hide behind the illusion that their hands are tied in regards to sacrificing their own pay while inflicting pay cuts on the citizenry.

We the People, urge both Legislative and Executive branches, for their failure to act when needed, take an indirect pay-cut by voluntarily and unanimously, donating 20% of their annual compensation to the US Treasury's Gift Contributions to Reduce Debt Held by the Public Program.
