Urge the DEA to move Tobacco to schedule I

The DEA has been inconsistent with its drug scheduling policies. There are a certain set of criteria used to determine whether a drug should be set to schedule I. they include having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use, and a lack of accepted safety for the use of the drug. Tobacco meets these criteria. it is extremely addictive, and is actively harmful to both the users and bystanders, a drug cannot be said to be safe to use if it poisons not only the users but those around it. tobacco is implicated in numerous cases of heart disease and cancer and cannot be said to have a medicinal use. Because it meets the above criteria it should be immediately moved to schedule I. The DEA cannot pick and choose what drugs it schedules. it must apply these criteria equally.
