It is the belief of a large number of Americans that the Federal Aviation Administration has been slow to issue proper regulations regarding the use of small drones for commercial purposes.
The current stance by the FAA has been widely viewed as nonsensical. The regulations allow for use of drones by hobbyists only. As soon as the same drone, at the same height, is flown for commercial purposes, it becomes illegal.
Leaders in innovation and technology such as Google have grown tired of waiting for the bureaucracy of the FAA. Even Forbes has called the FAA's regulations "backwards."
We urge you, Mr. President, to press the FAA for a temporary allowance of small drone flights for commercial purposes under 400 feet high, until they are able to release more detailed regulations.
