The FDA has no set regulation for the amount of added sugars (high fructose corn syrup) in our soda beverages. Soda is one of the most consumed beverages in children and teens and the obesity epidemic in our younger generation is not getting any better. The amount of sugar in a soda (12 oz can) is on average, 33 grams, which is already above the American Heart Institutes recommendation for a woman's sugar consumption for one day. I believe the FDA needs to set regulations in this regard to at least help the soda drinkers out there to consume less sugar (high fructose corn syrup) Thank you.
