The European Union, Japan and even India already ban brominated vegetable oil (BVO) from soft drinks due to suspected health effects. Suspected health effects include memory loss, tremors, fatigue, loss of muscle coordination, headache. FDA may have approved this additive under the assumption of small amounts of consumption by the average person. However many diets today unfortunately include large amounts of soft drinks and other food items that contain BVO. This increase in consumption could lead to a significant number of people that may be affected by this additive.
