The Deadbeat Parents Punishment Act (DPPA)18 USC § 228 - (a) Offense.— Any person who—
(1) willfully fails to pay a support obligation with respect to a child who resides in another State...
(2) travels in interstate or foreign commerce with the intent to evade a support obligation...
(3) willfully fails to pay a support obligation with respect to a child who resides in another State...
DPPA was introduced by Congressman Steny Hoyer and signed as a law by former President Bill Clinton in 1998, yet fewer than 400 cases have been prosecuted.
Urged the Federal government to aggressivley prosecute this law. It is however the"LAW"
