So-called "Quantitative Easing" enriches owners of paper assets and exacerbates wealth inequality, while impoverishing savers and consumers of commodities. At the same time, it has had no lasting effect on real economic outcomes: it has failed to reduce unemployment and meaningfully boost economic growth. This misguilded policy now serves only to distort capital markets, resulting in severe capital misallocation and lower potential long-run growth, and threatens the status of the US dollar as the world's "reserve currency." The President should encourage the current Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to cease and reverse Quantitive Easing immediately, and he should appoint only opponents of this misdirected policy to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
