The POTUS should urge Google to create a Google Doodle for February 11, 2016 commemorating Harriet Jacobs on her 103 birthday. Harriet Jacobs was an slave abolitionist, she authored "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl," an autobiography detailing the struggles of being a slave in the south. Furthermore, Harriet demonstrated incredible perseverance, determination, and grit, traits that define America, as she hid in a small attic for seven years in order to escape an abusive master. After escaping the wrath of slavery and fleeing to the north, Harriet dedicated her life to the abolishment of slavery as part of the Anti-Slavery Society. The best way to raise awareness about this incredible individual, representative of the American ideals of equality and perseverance, is through Google.
