Urge the government of the Rep. of Macedonia to carry out the reforms demanded by the Student's and Professor's Plenums.

This past fall, university students, professors, and their supporters staged the largest protests in the Republic of Macedonia since its independence over 20 years ago. More than 10,000 people came out to support the repealing of a new law that implemented external exams on university students and destroyed the autonomy of the university. After the protests the government ignored the demands of and attempted to delegitimize the students and professors who were organized in informal bodies called plenums. On February 11, 2015 the students and professors occupied universities across the country. Please urge the government of the Republic of Macedonia to sit down with the students and professors and draft new comprehensive legislation that would benefit higher education in Macedonia.
