Due to poor judgement and misuse of public influence, the racist comments about Michelle Obama shared from Pamela Taylor's social media account has resulted in bringing shame to the town of Clay.
While we agree that many comments are legal under the First Amendment, we also believe that people in public office need to recognise the responsibility of their words. There are consequences for racist, disrespectful comments when you are a government official. This is especially true when the comments are made about the president's wife.
This has created an unfavorable and distasteful outcome for Clay in the news and because we do not want to welcome more of the same rhetoric, we politely ask the two of them to step down from their current positions.
