Many acts of hate have taken place in the week following the 2016 Presidential elections. Some of these include: students at K-12 schools chanting, "BUILD THE WALL!" at Latino students; citizens openly threatened with personal harm based on their race; women in hijabs being assaulted, robbed, and their hijabs torn from their heads. These acts were misguidedly taken in the name of Mr. Trump. We the diverse people of the United States of America understand that in calling for a return to 1950s values, Mr. Trump did not mean that race-relations should return to that same era. Mr. Trump, please denounce these acts, and tell the American people that you will not tolerate acts of hatred or violence in the greatest bastion of tolerance and personal freedom in the world, and neither should we.
